THE EXHIBITION

Meet Krishna face-to-face at InScope.

The Vedic tradition calls it darshan: you see the divine, and the divine sees you.

Miami Art Week has seen everything. It has never seen this. This December, for the first time in the history of the fair circuit, Krishna arrives at Miami Art Week, and not as a motif or a reference. As a presence. DARSHAN: The Art of Being Seen brings the largest portrait of Krishna ever presented at Miami Art Week to InScope Miami Beach: a monumental new painting by Paramahamsa Vishwananda, a living spiritual Master and Satguru followed by millions around the world, created for this exhibition.

Around the centerpiece, narrative works of Krishna and Radha by Srimati Syamarani Dasi, a renowned spiritual teacher and devotional painter with 57 years of practice and more than 400 works around the world, open like pages from an illuminated manuscript, in a rare public debut. Hers is a lifetime of devotion made visible, one brushstroke at a time, and Miami has never been given the chance to stand before it until now.

THE MEANING OF DARSHAN

To see, and be seen.

Darshan is a Sanskrit word for the reciprocal act of seeing: you behold the Divine, and the Divine beholds you.

In the Vedic tradition, darshan is not an idea to understand from a distance. It is an encounter. You stand before the image, make time to look, and allow yourself to be met by the gaze in return.

That is what makes DARSHAN at Miami Art Week so rare. In a week defined by looking, this exhibition makes room for something more reciprocal: a direct meeting with Krishna through Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s monumental painting and the narrative devotional works of Srimati Syamarani Dasi.

Here, a contemporary international art audience is invited into an ancient living practice, freely and without prior belief. The invitation is simple: arrive, stand before the work, and let the encounter unfold.

No belief system required. All are welcome.

Paramahamsa Vishwananda

A GLOBAL SPIRITUAL MASTER

Paramahamsa Vishwananda is a living Satguru, Vaishnava Acharya and Kriya Master. As the founder of Bhakti Marga, he has built a global spiritual mission that brings the living tradition of bhakti to communities in more than 90 countries. As a living Satguru, he is bringing bhakti to the modern world: his presence and guidance leads seekers to a direct experience of Divine Love.

ART AS A LIVING ENCOUNTER

For Paramahamsa Vishwananda, painting is meditation, it is a prayer. Devotional art is the ancient practice of creating not to display skill, but to express love for the Divine where the canvas becomes an altar. In DARSHAN, his gaze is not simply the subject of the exhibition: it is the central encounter.
